Head coach
Grant Tamutus
The first memories of meaningful movement Grant recalls was climbing the playground - but in every unconventional way that was conceivable. Under the bridges, on top of the roofs, hanging from the railing ledges high above the (mulchy) ground...
The passion to explore the world thru playful and meaningful movement is not unique to him. However, the immense curiosity and time of devotion to learning about the world thru the body and vice versa, is the standout quality of this coach and athlete. It may not be so much about the abilities he has cultivated when coaching, but rather his daily delving into the human body's immense potential to move well and feel balanced.
Obstacle Course Racing was one of his first true athletic passions, where every race led to another, and led to hundreds of hours of training and restorative practice. Beginning in 2014 and still racing to this day, he has attended 5 OCR World Championships 2 in Ohio, 2 in Canada, and 1 in the United Kingdom, competed in dozens of races and volunteered or ran with friends many times.
Grant began training his friends at 6:30AM every weekday in the unofficial Team Scarlet OCR club while at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey and has worked at multiple gyms, Ninja Warrior & Parkour facilities.
Mr. Tamutus has a B.S. Kinesiology & B.A. Philosophy from Rutgers University and is a L2 Natural Movement Certified Trainer. He lives in Hunterdon County, New Jersey.
